What We Do

Last winter, when the nights were dark, and it was often too cold to have our meetings outside (we would have enjoyed it, but we have to consider our parents) we did all sorts of crafts, including making Angels and baubles for the Christmas Tree, also, we tie-dyed the curtains for our headquarters.

Then nearer Easter we painted egg cups. So most of us got our Craft Badge

Nearly all the Guides in the unit recently gained their First Aid Badge.
We would like to thank the Goring, Woodcote & District Lions for sponsoring this activity, and we would also like to thank The British Red Cross volunteers who gave up their time to train and assess the Guides.

Then we had our Summer Camp. Unfortunately, due to Foot & Mouth we decided to camp on our own site and not risk transporting anything nasty to another part of the country. So we did typical camp activities, and gained either our Camper Badge
or our Advanced Camper Badge

Recently we had a "Ready, Steady, Cook" evening, and here are pictures of what we did with the ingredients.

As well as enjoying the new Go For It! publications - especially the one on Chocolate, we recently all took our Agility Badge:

In the Summer we want to Complete our Adventure Out challenge.

As one of our Guiders has an Amateur Radio licence, we often take part in "Thinking Day on the Air" (TDOTA)

Here is some information on what we have done at TDOTA
